EA Global brings together a wide network of people who have made helping others a core part of their lives. Speakers and attendees share new thinking and research in the field of effective altruism and coordinate on global projects.

__EA Global: New York City 2025 will focus on the full range of causes related to effective altruism__, including farmed animal welfare, global health and development, biosecurity, AI safety, and more. 

## Application details

Application deadline: 21st Sep 2025 (11:59pm ET). All applications for this event will receive a response by 24th September 2025 at the latest. Most applications receive a response within two weeks.

## Approximate schedule

The event will begin with an opening reception on Friday (but you can arrive at any time during the weekend). Saturday and Sunday will have full-day schedules with content finishing at around 6pm on Sunday evening.

- Talks and discussions on the latest ideas at the frontiers of the EA movement (past examples available [here](https://www.youtube.com/c/EffectiveAltruismVideos))
- Workshops to help improve your thinking and execution
- Meetups, networking, and social activities

## Our COVID policy

We are not currently imposing any COVID restrictions, though we recommend attendees to be up to date with WHO-approved vaccines.

## Travel expenses

We are prepared to reimburse travel expenses for some attendees. You may apply for travel support if the cost of attending is too high for your budget. EAGxBerlin is going to take place from 3-5 October 2025. EA Germany is looking for people to join the event organiser team. We’ll hire three people in May/June.

Time effort will be 5-15 hours per week in July and August, and then increase to full time in the final 2-4 weeks until the conference. ### Who

EAGxBerlin is intended for both individuals new to the movement and those already professionally engaged with EA and will cover a diverse range of high-impact cause areas. We believe the conference will be of particular value to those currently exploring new ways they can have an impact, such as students, young professionals, people who are excited to start new impactful projects and mid-career professionals looking to shift into EA-aligned work. We also invite established organisations looking to share their work and grow their pool of potential collaborators or hires.

### 👋 Who is this for?

The __Effective Altruism Summit in Paris__, where talks and workshops will be held __in French__, is for anyone who wants to think about the best ways to make a positive impact in the world and how to apply them.

Whether you are a student, at the beginning or end of your career, or simply curious to learn more about effective approaches to helping others, this event is for you. We enthusiastically welcome people from all backgrounds looking to get involved, whatever form that commitment may take.

This day is especially (but not exclusively!) designed for those who wish to discover effective altruism and its principles, and explore how to put their skills, time or resources to causes where they can have the greatest positive impact. If you're wondering how to use your talents to make a meaningful difference, or simply want to learn more about effective altruism, this event is for you.

We would also like to welcome French-speaking mentors: professionals in effective altruism organizations or related cause areas, and those who otherwise have significant engagement with the EA movement and community. Your experience and knowledge about the EA professional network will be an invaluable resource to help those newly discovering effective altruism, and we aim for the event to provide useful information and networking opportunities for mentors.

EAGxNigeria 2025 will take place on __11th - 13th July, 2025__ in Abuja, Nigeria at __Nigeria Airforce Conference Centre and Suites__.

EAGxNigeria 2025 is an [Effective Altruism (EA)](https://www.effectivealtruism.org/) conference organised especially for the Nigerian and African EA communities. Whether you’re just beginning your EA journey or you’ve worked in one of the cause areas for years, this conference is an incredible opportunity to connect with people and organisations in the community, exchange ideas, and discover actionable ways to make an impact.


### Application Process

Here is what the application process looks like:

__Complete a short application (~15-60 minutes)__. We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism.

__Our team will review your application__. We aim to be in touch about your application regardless of outcome within 10 business days.

__Register for the conference (~5 minutes)__. If you’ve been accepted, you’ll receive an email with a link to register and confirm your place at the conference. At this stage you’ll be asked to provide dietary requirements and additional logistic details, indicate whether you’ll be available to volunteer, and have the option of donating to offset event costs.

### Who is the event for

EAGxNigeria prioritises attendees from Nigeria and other African countries to build the local community and connections across the region. However, we also welcome experienced EAs from around the world who can bring valuable perspectives and mentorship to the event. The conference is ideal for:

- Newcomers ready to take action and explore how EA principles can guide impactful decisions in your career and life
- EA community members looking to strengthen connections and share expertise within Nigeria and African EA networks
- Experienced EAs interested in supporting regional efforts while expanding their global EA network


### Travel assistance

Please note that travel support funds are limited and we can only accommodate some requests. In some cases, we might not be able to pay for all of your travel expenses. If you do not end up receiving travel support, this is likely the result of limited funds rather than an evaluation of your potential for impact. Prepare for independently organized Pre- and Post- Conference Satellite Events (May 8-14) including self-organized dinners and:

__Post-Conference Hackathon (May 12-14)__

Extend your stay in Prague for two and half days of work in small teams on impactful projects with knowledgeable mentors and speakers. Anybody can join. Various tracks will be available for both technical and non-technical skills. The perfect way to transform the excitement from the conference into actual impact.

The event is free, with a suggested donation of £70.

We create maximum impact by thoughtfully selecting 300 attendees who can mutually support and inspire one another.

   We collect basic details about your interests and engagement with effective altruism. Keep it    brief if your online presence covers you well. Provide more detail if there’s a crucial          consideration we might overlook. Application deadline: 18 April 2025
2. __We will review your application__
   Regardless of the outcome, we’ll get back to you within 10 days.
